02. What is a Shyft Move Coach?

A Move Coach is your personal moving concierge who will act as your advocate throughout the move process. Your Move Coach ensures that your items are delivered safely from door to door, protecting you and your family from risk and uncertainty when moving.

03. How to get an inventory list?

Shyft prides itself on inventory lists that have 95% accuracy, that means that we are able to accurately price your move. A Shyft Move Coach will create your inventory list over one video call on the Shyft Next application, our proprietary video survey app. This inventory will be used to get pricing estimates for your move.

04. What is Shyft Moving? 

Shyft takes the hassle out of the moving process. From video surveys and multiple pricing options to a simple, app driven customer experience, you will always know what’s happening with your move. We offer full service move or DIY move options, housing or settling-in services to find a solution that meets your needs and budget.

05. How does Shyft Moving work?

We place our customers with a moving company that fits their needs and budget, and oversee the entire process from door-to-door.

After completing the online form, we will schedule a video call with your dedicated Move Coach.

Next, you’ll be required to download Shyft’s free and user-friendly moving app, called Shyft Next. Shyft Next is available for iPhone and Android devices.

During the video call, you’ll show your Move Coach with your device’s camera what you want to take to your new home. The Shyft Move Coach will note all the items that need to be moved and advise you on approximate costs. 

When your inventory list is complete, we’ll send you multiple pricing options. As soon as you accept a moving quote, the price is locked and cannot be changed unless you add or remove items, alter the move distance, or fail to book your move before the quote expiry date.

Your Move Coach will oversee the entire moving process from start to finish. They will help you every single step of the way. No matter which company is handling your move, Shyft ensures the same quality standards for all.

06. What is personal relocation?

11. Are relocation expenses taxable?

To put it in simple terms relocation expenses are considered taxable income for employees. This is according to the IRS, and even local state authorities. This covers temporary housing, goods transportation, miscellaneous items, etc. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 is the cause of this. Furthermore, it is scheduled to be reviewed in 2026.

12. Are moving costs fixed?

Once your move with Shyft is booked, the price of your move is locked unless you change the details of your move such as your inventory, or destination or origin address.

13. How can I benefit from moving insurance?

Moving insurance covers losses or damage to your possessions during a move. Because moving puts your possessions at risk of damage and theft, a moving insurance policy can help reimburse you for any mishaps during the moving process. 14. What does Move Now, Pay Later mean?
